If you "have" to have a drink when you are craving one (no matter the frequency/amount), you want to be careful.

Bonus for you - you're aware enough to ask this question, and that's a GOOD, good sign.

If alcohol starts getting in the way of other things, then you want to get help. If alcoholism runs in your family, make sure your friends/family know they can help you keep an eye on your behaviors. They will see them before you do.

Most alcoholics don't know they are. My father, who's in prison and likely hasn't had any in years... still swears he wasn't. I don't have a single memory of him sober.

No way, alcholics drink at least 4 days a week. Its fine to drink on the weekends and if your in you're twentys than more its expected. its only when alcohol becomes a priority your life than you need to worry.

No, having at least one drink a day is perfectly healthy for you. If you crave something in general, even if you yourself don't want it (crave meat products even though you just ate dinner) it means theres something in that that your body needs. Thats why pregnant women crave weird things, they are needing something they are lacking because of the baby so they crave weird things. Not saying this is the same case with you, but yea. Having a drink once a day does not make you an alcoholic. You are an alcoholic when you need it and will do anything (or just about anything) just to get it.

I crave a drink two or three times a week... and sometimes indulge it. Alcoholic? Hell no... those people have to attend them damn meetings.

I'm single, too.

it makes you someone who does not know what to do with your time, or what to put in your body,
why do you alter your consciousness?? What is missing? Before you disagree with me,are you sure??? Maybe you are a hypochrondriac, or sociopath, perhaps a schizophrenic, could be?? But i have said nothing definate here. just a few thoughts revolving around this question, have a good day, peace and security i would look alittle deeper into the craving, aspect of your personality, craving goes a bit over the edge, with anything, no>>>"?????

sometimes is for present simple tense, this does not make you a real alcoholic, if you feel you do need it and you can not without it, that is an other thing, dear friend.

I don't think wanting to drink once a makes you an alcoholic, it's the crave and indulge that worries me, because if you crave and indulge then the alcohol is controlling you, yes you are on the border line on becoming an alcoholic, because if you have to ask, then you are probably drinking more then you are stating,,,,,,

No, true alcoholics have a hard time admitting that they have a problem indulging in the so called "occasional" drink which is every day or every hour until it becomes a part of their lives & they can't function without it. It's becomes they're liquid crack. But no you're not an alcoholic my friend just take it easy & enjoy yourself you'll be fine.
