The only help him not being left around would be him put somewhere that wouldnt help him because he obviously doesn’t want any help. Chances are he’s looking for attention (Just a wild guess, not pertaining to chroming), because he needs people in his life not because he needs to get locked in a cage
The kind of help he needs are friends and family that can deal with his problem, anywhere else and he will come out worse than he went in. Just him sitting down with him helped him some
