He won’t get proper blood levels and that could be why it isn’t working, it is meant to be taken every 12 hours but I found it only lasted about 8 when I took it. If you don’t take it consistently every 8 hours lets say then your blood levels aren’t steady and that could explain why it doesn’t work. There are a few products, personally I found Duragesic patch works the best for me. It is constant and since its on the skin I dont have to remember to take a pill a few times a day. It is worn for three days. There is also Opana ER which lasts 12 hours, Kadian which lasts 12-24 hours, Avinza which lasts 24 hours, methadone once it is in your system consistently lasts 8 hours, levocourin lasts 12 hours, and I’m sure there is more but none come to mind. If he doesn’t like pills I suggest the Duragesic patch. It also doesn’t cause as much nausea or constipation which was my biggest complaint. Another thing I found and why I stopped taking Oxycontin was it caused me to retain fluid in my body. I gained 25 pounds from fluid retention and once I went off of it, the weight came off in a few weeks. It helps when you don’t have extra weight too because it isn’t so much for your body to carry around. Hope this helps.
