In his book Andre stated he hated tennis. Can anyone point to overwhelming evidence that demonstrated he hated tennis? He trained for the sport, talked about looking forward to matches(Becker), and plays to this day. perhaps he liked to state his hate of tennis to shock people and show his coolness. Kind of like Stewie calling his high school lame. Image is everything.
Phelps never had a good relationship with his father..because he was absent in his life and Agassi had a tennis obsessive father. Agassi’s siblings failed in tennis because of their father. At 15 his older sister got ulcers and quit . Andre’s father put everything on his shoulders when he was like 6 years old.
Agassi is the only player in tennis history to win the Golden Slam: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, U.S. Open, and an Olympic gold medal! – - The fact that he has admitted to his transgressions has made me respect him even more. His charitable foundations only enhance my respect!
lol, only celebrities can do charity work? You are dumber than i thought. In addition, you failed to answer “Did Agassi truly have done charity work before he got famous or not?” So your argument is useless.
lol you think someone who took drug will have a sign sticking on his forehand saying “I took drug”? Don’t be ridiculous, you can’t tell someone by judging his face shown on the interviews.
He was a junkie at the time Whether you fanbots admit it or not.
If Agassi got suspended as he should had in 1997, do you really think he would have the same career afterward that he would have now? I doubt it. Many players make an absence from the tour for 1 or 2 years and never manage to crack up top 10 again. I doubt Agassi would make any difference. If he feels sorry for what he did, he should’ve returned all the trophies that he won after 1997. Plain and Simple.
lol I can’t believe someone tries to compare Phelps with Agassi.
What a brainless argument. The difference is Phelps didn’t take drug before and during the Olympic. so his medals stay with him. Besides, he already apologized and got suspended after getting caught. Unlike Agassi, he took the punishment like a man and never denied his actions.
Omg. He never did charity work before he was famous? Advert child, seriously? One could work in a soup kitchen, or maybe volunteer, but CHARITY work is generally created and done by celebrities. Are you dense? And you obviously are completely uneducated of the syntax and definition of the word junkie. It is impossible to be a junkie and not have it show in ones face. You can see just above us in the video, he is not a junkie. But, have fun arguing anyway.
As a sportman, he took drug? What a disgrace! Whether or not the drug will enhance his ability, it won’t change the fact that he’s a junkie. I can’t believe his delusional fans try to justify this behaviour.
Why not tell your children or grandchildren it’s OKAY to take Crystal Meth. What a bunch of fools.
And don’t put Sampras in the same sentence as Agassi. The former is a TRUE legend, a true honorable man, a true SPORTSMAN. The latter.. well need i say more? lol.
PLEASE – Cyrstal meth a performance enhancing drug?GET REAL. Thats like saying being drunk on court is an advantage.
Shld he have taken it? Who knows who cares i have not walked a mile in his shoes so i cant comment, bottom line is he WAS and IS a great tennis player who managed to live an extraordinary life.
BEFORE you comment ask your self the question… what have you achieved? And who have you helped apart from yourself in the last year

He isn’t the only player in tennis history, just the only man. His wife, Stefanie Graf, also won those four events.

February 3rd, 2010 at 10:50 pm
I should be asking you “why are you dragging Phelps into this discussion.” As I pointed out, Phelps’ situation is different from Agassi’s.

the only reason phelps admitted to smoking the bong was cause of the photo ==” do u think he would have told the whole world if there was no photo?
