Anyone know of an alcoholics anonymous application for my blackberry? Specifically, I am looking for a meeting schedule app that I can download to my phone. Any help is appreciated.

The closest thing I could find for you was a AA book for the blackberry. It doesn’t look like it has anything to do with scheduling or meeting locations though.

Don’t buy alcohol for that day, and don’t go out wiht people or hang out with people who do drink. AA would be a good choice also for supportive reasons and others.

She keeps insisting that you can’t stop without going to AA. But it doesn’t make sense since I stopped for four months and have no plans on doing it again. Why can’t she just accept that not everybody needs AA to stop drinking?

Tell her you can not discuss your personal life with her and you resent it very much and consider it harassment so please stop.

I am doing a research paper on eating disorders and I know there is two types of anorexia nervosa. Restrictive type & Binge/Purge type. But how does binge/purge type anorexia differ from bulimia?
Can someone explain?

The restrictive type is where someone will not eat anything. They just limit their food intake and starve themselves.
The binge/purge type is where someone binges, or has a field day and eat whatever they want, only to force themselves to puke it out immediately after gorging on food.

There’s no magic cure for alcoholism. To truly change you have to want to change. When you do want to change then consider AA and/or rehab and quit being a whiny pus_sy.

I’m a recent college graduate searching out my entry level job as a preschool teacher or private school teacher. I’ve also been sober for 2 years in Alcoholics Anonymous. My sponsor has offered to be one of my references on my applications for employment but every time it asks “Relationship” I don’t know what to put her as without giving away my anonymity. Does anyone know how to do this??

Congrats on getting sober, I will be at 7 years on the 28th! I would probably use a different reference. You could list as associate or friend, but questions may arise and being a recovering alcoholic is probbaly not something the schools are gonna want to hear.
If your sponser does have a solid job that would make them look like a good ref. then just put down that she is an old business associate, coach, teacher etc. Good luck!

Has it been done and have there been somewhat promising results or is it hopeless… Ive recently stopped on my own and have been talking to a lot of people and didnt drink today… It was pretty uncomfortable, but I made it through it and just dont want to do it anymore. My sleep has been severely disrupted and just cant drink at night like I have been, like a bottle of wine before bed. I might go to a meeting tommorow.

You CAN but will you? You should just get yourself back on your normal diet and nothing will go wrong. You wll be fine. Dont yoyo too much though. Humans are designed to eat as much whenever they can, because in the wild, we would eat maybe 5,000 one day, and not eat for the rest of the week. good luck

If you are drinking to the point that you want help you probably can’t do it on your own. Research ANY other type of program. Rehab or something like it. If your case is bad enough you may need a medical detox.
