A good friend of mine who I think is an alcoholic, set a New Years resolution to only drink socially or on the weekends. He drinks almost every night. I told him that he needs to quit altogether. He says he doesn’t want to quit, just drink less. I think his resolution may work for a while, but he’ll end up drinking all the time again. He says that his drinking is a habit and he can start a new habit of only drinking on the weekends. Is that possible?

My brother is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober for over 5 years. He has insomnia and suffers from chronic back pain, many pain meds and sleeping medications are not an option for him because they work off of many of the same receptors that alcohol does. (while marijuana does not and has a much lower abuse potential) I was wondering if anyone has a personal or expert advice in regards to recovering alcoholics using marijuana to treat such issues.

i went through back fusion and it has been a year and im trying to stay off the pain meds so i got medical marijhuana and i was a alcholoic. it has no connect with alcohol. and it is easy to maintain the use of marjhuana

Okay, I’ve been on a low calorie diet (like 700 calories a day or less) and I was wondering if it’s possible for me to have gained this much weight in this period of time? I ate a combination of atleast 5,000 calories within the past three days by the way. Oh yeah, is there anyway for me to get back on track of losing weight?

Im 16 years old & i have a huge binge eating problem. It all started when i tried eating healthy & exercising regulary. I guess i took it too far because just today i ate about 20 mini snickers candies plus junk food to the point where i could barely stand up. Im so afraid of gaining 5 lbs overnight! How should i eat from now on to make sure this never happens again? Im having trouble trying to be healthy but avoiding this at the same time!

We should talk. I have had the EXACT same experience.

One thing I noticed is that we gotta really be sensitive and highly aware towards what triggers our eating in times like these. Another useful thing to realize is — food WON’T help. No matter what you stomach tells you.

And if so which ones? I know that some cruise companys do a pay once and get unlimited soft drink thing but haven’t heard anything about the inclusion of alcoholic drinks.

There isn’t one that sails from the US some of the European lines might but I haven’t heard of one. Its how the make a good deal of their money.

I’m a college student, and while playing pick up bball i caught an elbow to the top of my head. I have staples on the cut and was put on minocycline. Anyone know the side effects of binge drinking while on this anti biotic. It is just 100 mg. Usually drink 15-18 drinks each friday/ saturday night.

Any advice would be helpful

No drinking with antibiotics. Not even a little. If you must binge drink, wait until after the antibiotics. Of course, you know that binge drinking can kill you.

Generally terrible. Depends on how bad the addiction is. That’s one reason why I wouldn’t have children w/my boyfriend.
My father supposedly died at 38 from alcohol related reasons (pancreatitis) but in those days, medical imaging isn’t what it is today, so that’s tough to know for sure since an autopsy wasn’t done.
Living w/any addict can unbelievably difficult and dangerous. They can go into forms of temporary insanity. They tend to be unreliable. Their addiction can take precedence over everything and everyone. It can be a living nightmare where anything can go wrong.

Check with your state liquor license bureau. You’ll definitely need your liquor license and all your severs will need their state alcohol server’s permits. Some states have different permits for just serving beer and wine and for serving hard liquor. It depends on where you live.
