yes..I’ll explain

(step 1)-i know nothing good lives in me,that is,in my sinful nature for i have the desire to do what is good, but i cannot carry it out..Romans 7:18

(step 2)-for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose..Philippians 2:13

(step 3)-therefore,I urge you brothers and sisters in view of God’s mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God-which is your spiritual workshop..Romans 12:1

(step 4)-Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the lord..lamentations 3:40

(step 5)-therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed..James 5:16

(step 6)-Humble yourselves before the lord, and he will lift you up..James 4:10

(step 7)-If we confess our sins,he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness..1 john 1:9

(step 8)-Do to others as you would have them do to you..Luke 6:31

(step 9)-Therefore,if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother had something against you.Leave your gift there in front of the altar.first go and be reconciled to your brother, then come and offer your gift..Matthew 5:23-24

(step 10)-So,if you think you are standing firm,be careful that you don’t fall..1 corinthians 10:12

(step 11)-Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..colossians 3:16

(step 12)-Brothers and sisters,if someone is caught in a sin,you who are spiritual should restore them gently but watch yourself or you may also be tempted..galatians 6:1

Q&A: What are you thoughts on the possibility of a genetic predisposition to alcoholism?

Question by Tomuchtoosoon: What are you thoughts on the possibility of a genetic predisposition to alcoholism?

Best answer:

Answer by Weezer
Very possible, in my humble opinion. I personally struggled with the disease and was the last person in the world who would have ever thought I would. I never was allowed to drink, my biological father was killed due to drinking, and went through college abstaining. Then, in my early twenties I was going through some issues that I felt unable to handle well and began using alcohol to get wasted and forget these problems I was going through. Of course it didn’t heal them but it only made them worse. Then I got titled an “alcoholic”. I was always into fitness and took great care of myself before this. I got help and drink only on occasion now. It started with wkend drinking and then to nightly drinking then to all day long drinking. It ran in my family and yes, that’s the only rational or logical possiblity I could think of for my tendencies towards addiction. Hope I’ve helped!

Best answer:

Answer by kerrbear
The Joe and Charlie audio cds have been very helpful to my husband. They can be purchased from the Joe and Charlie web site or on Ebay and are very reasonably priced. There are others but my husband likes these best because they are seem more true to the experiences of actual alcoholics.

How long does someone have to abstain from drinking in order to not be considered alcoholic?

Question by Grasshopper: How long does someone have to abstain from drinking in order to not be considered alcoholic?
They say that a true alcoholic cannot stop drinking when they try, so how long do they have to stop drinking to prove that they are not alcoholic, 1 year, 2? I don’t drink, so this is not me.
So really, if you stop with the help of a 12-step program, you will always be an alcoholic, but if you stop on your own, you are not an alcoholic?
So it is defined by past propensity toward alcoholism rather than current behavioral trends? A non-drinker, yet an alcoholic?

Answer by kfaulk211
I thought alcoholics were always alcoholics – even if they quit drinking for years. Kind of the whole 12 – step thing anyway, which I think is a bunch of baloney.

If you dont’ drink, you’re not an alcoholic, so you’re good.

The American Medical Association and Alcoholics Anonymous BOTH believe that alcoholism is a disease. T or F?

Question by : The American Medical Association and Alcoholics Anonymous BOTH believe that alcoholism is a disease. T or F?

Best answer:

Answer by Lemanski’s Ghost
Of course it’s not so simple. AA recognizes a spiritual solution to alcoholism, so it is not a strictly biological disease in their view if spirituality can overcome it. They also tend to be negative toward things like medications to control cravings, depression, anxiety, etc. But it is certainly a physical condition within AA, and in their view it requires a metaphysical cure.
